The drill bit is at the bottom of drilling string, connected with drill collar or HWDP (Heavy Weight Drill Pipe )through a sub.

There are two types of drill bit, one type is PDC (polycrystalline diamond compact), the other one is Roller Cone Bit.

Different formations will need different types of drill bits.
